Shibari Workshop Descriptions

Pentecost 2023

NON-VERBAL INTERACTION with Niko KBK & Raph

They will present their approach to non-verbal interactions and rhythm.

These two themes complement each other to help you as a pair to evolve together in space and to contribute to letting go as a model and rigger.

They consist of a series of small exercises, where for some it is possible and even recommended to switch whatever your role and level.

Concerning non-verbal interactions, mini-workshops follow logically around breathing, awareness of space, touch, the ability to make a proposal, to evolve together while physically dialoguing with our bodies.

TENSION MANAGEMENT with Ana Sweet & Alléria

Learn to tighten the ropes better. Hand placement technique to maintain tension Understand how to exchange tension in your hand.

Finger placement, learning to feel the tension on your string. Construction of a frictionless harness to understand the benefit of tightening your ropes.

Angle of the tightening nodes to optimize friction.

This technique applies to all harnesses, a harness with the right tension will be more effective and less dangerous.

TIE BASKETBALL with Galaad & Amachouille

In this workshop we will see how to think and design the Basket tie according to the uses for which it is intended.

After having made the “basic” basketball tie, several adaptations will be proposed for the suspension, depending on the points that we wish to put in tension.

We will discuss the problems to anticipate, possible deformations of the harness and how to remedy them.

ROPES FACE with Frankie Vega & Amaury Grisel

What is “FaceRope”? This is a workshop in which we will introduce you to Japanese facial bondage techniques.

After a few words of introduction and a short demonstration we will invite you to practice to reproduce or create your own FaceRope on the face of your partner(s). We invite you to consider the face as a sensitive part of the body that is both erotic and erogenous.

The ropes will allow participants a fun and creative approach to shibari while making them aware of their entire face.

Jute ropes will be preferred but we will also offer you other softer alternatives, such as ribbon or on the contrary for the more daring, more rough and aggressive coconut ropes, do not hesitate to bring materials that make you envy.

We want this gender-neutral workshop, switch for those who wish it, as a duo or trio.

RHYTHM with Niko KBK & Raphaël

We will first explore what our natural frequency is.

Based on walking and breathing, we will make it evolve towards a rhythm.

Only then will the rope come which, just for a time, will first be our only partner.

Equipment needed: 3 to 4 ropes or more, 1 tenugui or a scarf to obscure the view.

Recommendations: regarding non-verbal interactions, even if the exercises seem harmless, they can lead to a strong emotional involvement.

It is recommended to participate with a trusted person who will be able to provide you with support.

PLACEMENT, CONSTRAINTS AND LISTENING with Morphée & Kettu

We will start the workshop using a single rope. The idea is to learn how to best position yourself to facilitate the manipulation of your partner and the fluidity of movements.

Then, through listening and observation, we will learn how to add new constraints while letting our partner settle into them. Allowing us to go further together.

LACING TECHNIQUE with Ana Sweet & Alléria

Lacing is a binding technique that often binds two members of the body together.

During the workshop several harnesses for the arms will be covered and another harness which starts from the waist to the thighs and can also go up to the ankles.

The aim of the workshop is to understand the construction of lacings.

Safety points for suspension will also be covered.

Tracks on artistic variations will be proposed.

The purpose of this workshop will be to understand the benefit of a stem and a lacing harness construction.

FEEL BLINDFOLDED Niko Share

The constraint of a sense increases feelings.

For this workshop we will deprive the riggers of their sight, then it will be the models' turn.

And to finish in a sensory journey in harmony it will be the entire pair who will be blindfolded.
